Luxury golf glove buyer's guide
A premium golf glove usually costs $30 to $45. Ours costs $300. This guide explains what you get at each price, what our price pays for, and how to decide whether a luxury glove is worth it for you.

What does a luxury golf glove cost?
Most premium leather golf gloves from well-known brands list for about $30 to $45 each. They are almost all made from cabretta, the leather from hair sheep, and most golfers replace them every so often as they wear.
| Glove | Leather | List price per glove |
|---|---|---|
| G/FORE Signature | AA cabretta | $32 to $38 |
| Sun Day Red Leather Move | AAA cabretta | $30 |
| Sun Day Red Tour Leather | Lambskin | $45 |
| Bruce Bolt Original Series | 0.45 mm cabretta | About $30 to $40 (sold in two-packs) |
| Shizuka No. 01 | Kangaroo palm, cabretta back | $300 |
Prices are from brand and retailer websites in November 2026 and change with sales.
Why does the Shizuka No. 01 cost $300?
Here is what the price pays for:
- The leather. Kangaroo leather on the palm and thumb, and fine cabretta on the back. Kangaroo leather only comes from Australia's wild harvest, which runs on yearly government quotas, so supply is limited.
- The hardware. A brushed brass snap on a leather-covered closure. The snap pops out and works as a ball marker.
- Small batches. We make gloves in four drops a year, and each glove is numbered within its drop.
- The packaging you keep. A rigid box, a leather case with a shaped insert that holds the glove's shape between rounds, and a numbered card.
- Delivery and a guarantee. Free insured shipping in the US, and a full refund if your drop ships late.
Personalization is extra: $50 to press up to three letters into the wrist tab or the case.
Cost vs. value: Shizuka, G/FORE and Bruce Bolt
A G/FORE or Bruce Bolt glove is a well-made cabretta glove at about a tenth of our price. If you play often, grip hard and swap gloves regularly, that is the better value per round, and we would tell a friend the same.
Shizuka is built for a different buyer: someone who wants a kangaroo leather palm, no logo across the hand, and a glove that is stored in a case rather than stuffed in a bag pocket. It also makes sense as a gift, with the box, case and optional letters. If that is what you are after, the kangaroo leather guide explains the material in more depth.
How to choose a luxury golf glove
- Fit. Snug across the palm, with no loose leather at the fingertips. Measure your hand with our size guide.
- Palm material. Kangaroo for a thin, strong palm, cabretta for a soft, tacky feel, synthetic for heat and rain.
- Closure. A closure that sits flat and doesn't scratch your wrist.
- Care. A case or insert keeps the glove in shape. Let it dry flat after each round.
- Policy. Check that the brand will exchange the size if it's wrong.
Questions
What does a luxury golf glove cost?
Premium leather golf gloves from well-known brands mostly list for about $30 to $45 each in late 2026. G/FORE's Signature glove is about $32 to $38, Sun Day Red's leather gloves are $30 to $45, and Bruce Bolt sells two-packs for $60 to $80. The Shizuka No. 01 costs $300, which puts it closer to a leather accessory than a regular golf glove.
Why does the Shizuka No. 01 cost $300?
The price covers a kangaroo leather palm with a cabretta back, a brushed brass snap that doubles as a ball marker, small-batch production in four drops a year, a rigid box with a leather case and a shaped insert, a numbered card, free insured shipping, and a full refund if a drop ships late. Kangaroo leather comes only from Australia's quota-managed wild harvest, which keeps supply limited.
Is a luxury golf glove worth it?
If you go through a glove every few rounds and want the lowest cost per round, a good $30 to $40 cabretta glove is the practical choice. A luxury glove makes sense if you care about how the glove looks and feels, want a material like kangaroo leather, will store it properly between rounds, or are buying it as a gift.
How do I choose a luxury golf glove?
Get the fit right first: snug across the palm, no loose leather at the fingertips. Then pick the palm material for how you play, check the closure and stitching, and make sure the brand offers size exchanges. A case or insert to store the glove in will help it keep its shape.
Is a luxury golf glove a good gift?
Yes, as long as you know the size or the brand offers easy exchanges. Look for gift-ready packaging and personalization. Shizuka gloves come boxed in a leather case and can be personalized with up to three letters.
